The XLCS Cage for Nikon ZR is machined from a solid piece of 6061 Aluminum and is available in 4 different colors. The Nikon ZR cage features over 75 1/4"-20 threaded holes and 11 3/8"-16 holes with arri-style placement holes.
The XLCS ZR cage also features 3 built in NATO rails--with an optional 4th on top, which is simply added or removed with an included insert piece that is supported by M4 Screws and 3x4mm dowel pins for total structural rigidity.
In it's base form, the hot-shoe is fully accessible for microphone or XLR accessories, while still offering threaded mounting holes for top handles. When the hot-shoe is not needed, the included NATO insert can be added to provide the "built-in" top NATO feel for other top handle options.
For even more mounting options when the hot-shoe is not in use, an optional top plate can be added to the cage; featuring an additional 12x 1/4"-20 and 1x 3/8"-16 w/arri threaded holes (while keeping the NATO in place). The holes keep alignment with the other existing holes on the camera, allowing the top plate to assist in better rigging for multi-point mounting scenarios.
The Nikon ZR mounts extremely fast and easily into the rear of the cage, and is kept in place by 2x 1/4"-20 screws in the bottom--including a custom screw that locks into the anti-swivel tripod socket on the base of the camera; preventing any wiggle, swivel or rotation of the camera. The camera is installed and ready within seconds, and can be removed just as quickly.
The included HDMI lock is secure and robust, and can be stored in the base of the cage when not in use.
The XLCS Cage for Nikon ZR also features mounting points for our "direct to cage" 15mm rods--which allow you to mount 15mm rails directly to the cage to keep a low profile and compact build when rigging your camera. This eliminates the need to add unnecessary baseplates keeping your rig light and compact. (rods sold separately)
The XLCS Cage for Nikon ZR also enhances the grip of the camera natively by extending the front and rear grip points. A rear protrusion is added for a thumb-rest with added knurling for increased bite. An additional front-grip can be added to further enhance the hand-held feel, and is available in either Premium Black Walnut or Tactical Rubber.
Beyond this, we offer many other accessories to assist you in getting the most from your Nikon ZR. Our cages also feature standard spacing mounts, allowing you to use accessories from just about any other existing build you may already have including top and side handles. This truly is a one of a kind, built to last cage to help you work and thrive in any situation.
